Why ‘AI-First’ Thinking Is Setting You Up to Fail

In my opinion, businesses that claim to be “AI-first” (or even “AI-centric”) are setting out on the wrong path.

AI can no doubt streamline, support, and scale. But lead? Even if it could… lead who? Your team? Your customers? Your mission?

Why rush to hand over the reins? It’s your business. Your people. Your purpose.

Putting AI at the centre sounds smart on the surface — until you realise you’re building a world where robots talk to robots… and we sit quietly on the sidelines.

We weren’t meant to run companies like that. And we sure weren’t meant to work in them.

Use AI, but use it well. Don’t lose sight of the classics:

A driven team
A meaningful purpose
Delighted customers
Sustainable profit

That’s not old-school. That’s real business.

That’s why we’re developing ethical AI frameworks for our clients. Making sure technology amplifies human potential rather than replacing it.

What principles are guiding your AI decisions?
